The mission of the Respect Integrity Opportunity (RIO) Education Fund, Inc. is to ensure students graduate with every opportunity for success by supporting access to higher education and educational advancement.

The RIO Education Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation has granted scholarships to graduating Seniors throughout the Permian Basin, promoting and implementing initiatives that involve the entire community and improving our colleges through programs providing much needed services to students.

Our fundraisers and events raise awareness and generate crucial resources to serve our community. Funds are distributed to colleges and organizations throughout the Permian Basin. All donations to the RIO Education Fund remain in the Permian Basin. Our mission is to engage the entire the community in making educational excellence a top priority.

Purpose

The Purpose of this corporation shall be to receive and maintain a fund or funds of real or personal property, or both, and subject to the restrictions and limitations of the Internal Revenue Code, to use and apply the whole or any part of the income there from and the principal thereof exclusively for charitable, religious, scientific, literary or educational purposes either directly or by contributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501© 3 of the Internal Revenue Code
and its regulations as they now exist or as they may hereinafter be amended.

Specific Goals

To provide an avenue of contact between the community and college bound students.

  1. To provide individualized and group support, or both, to persons pursuing college degrees, through scholarships, and other forms of financial assistance, such as helping high school students complete financial aid packages.

  2. To actively seek out and identify worthy, but economically disadvantaged students so that they may be afforded as much support, financially, psychologically, and culturally to facilitate their entry and matriculation through colleges and universities.

  3. To provide community service to underserved families, youth, seniors, and ethnic minority populations.
